Overview   LEADERSHIP SOUTHERN INDIANA (LSI) is a non-profit organization that helps develop and educate leaders in Clark and Floyd counties.  It was founded in 1981 and facilitates communication among leaders within the community and fosters action by serving as a catalyst for solving community problems.  LSI selects adults for each year’s class who, upon graduation in May, are expected to become an active participant in LSI and community stewardship initiatives.  Individuals may sponsor themselves, or their employer may sponsor them.

Commitment   Leadership Southern Indiana participants are REQUIRED to attend the following: a two-day opening retreat at Wooded Glen Retreat and Conference Center, Henryville, Indiana, on Aug. 3-4, 2006; full-day sessions devoted to a different aspect of the community and leadership on Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8, Dec. 13, 2006, Jan. 31, Feb. 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, 2007 and the half-day session and evening graduation program on May 10, 2007.  Each graduate must serve on a planning committee for one of the monthly program days for the following year’s class.  This will require attending approximately six to eight, one hour, meetings (may be during work hours) and attending the class day itself for the 2007-08 term.

Tuition and Funding   Each participant will be responsible for the full (non-refundable) tuition fee of $1350.00 to cover all program costs—from the retreat through the graduation banquet, plus your first year’s alumni dues.  Partial financial assistance may be available in limited circumstances for those who demonstrate a need.  If you are chosen for this year’s class and wish to be considered for financial assistance, indicate that in the appropriate space on the application.
